Protective sleeves

Postsaver + Polesaver.

About the product

Protection against rot.

Postsaver protective sleeves are a two-layer system: a durable polyethylene outer layer lined with a meltable bitumen inner sealant. When heat is applied, the inner sealant melts while the outer layer shrinks onto the post's surface, forming an air- and water-tight seal that blocks every factor rot needs to take hold.

The Postsaver sleeve is fitted to the post in the ground-line zone - exactly where water, microorganisms and thermal fluctuations do the most damage to the timber.

A post's service life with this product is significantly longer. Recommended for pine posts that are dried and impregnated to Use Class 4.

Postsaver

For standard fence posts

A post's service life with POSTSAVER is significantly longer. To protect your fencing investment and make it last as long as possible (around 20 years), we recommend using POSTSAVER on PINE posts dried and impregnated to Use Class 4 (with the full sapwood zone saturated).

Postsaver +PLUS

Professional market

Postsaver Rot Protection +Plus is a decay-prevention sleeve for the professional-use market, where a post's projected service life exceeds 40 years. It reaches deeper below ground than the standard protector, further reducing the likelihood of timber decay. Expected service life: 40+ years with Use Class 4 treatment, 20 years on untreated posts.

Application

Three steps.

Straightforward application with a gas torch. No special tools required.

  1. Position
    01

    Position

Before fitting the Postsaver, mark where the ground line will sit on the post. Position the Postsaver so the marked ground line aligns with the line printed on the Postsaver sleeve.

  2. Heat
    02

    Heat

Using a gas torch or heat gun, heat the Postsaver sleeve evenly from all sides so it shrinks uniformly and hugs the surface of the post smoothly. For square-section posts, we recommend pressing the sleeve down with a paint roller as it shrinks.

  3. Install
    03

    Install

Once the Postsaver sleeve is fitted, allow it to set, and the post can then be installed in its intended location.
